Today you have started the first step on a journey of a deeper knowledge of yourself, closer and more fulfilling relationships, and finding a greater sense of meaning in your life. Whether you have recurrent issues of depression, anxiety, or trauma, or you need support through a particularly difficult time in your life, my hope is that through individual therapy you can receive the support and clarification you need to become a more integrated self where you feel empowered and on a positive path to growth and well-being.
While using techniques and theories from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and analytical (Jungian) psychology, my goals are to help you uncover a better understanding of your conscious thought and behavior patterns, as well as a deeper awareness of unconscious and transpersonal aspects of your human experience. You will learn coping skills and strategies for symptoms which may be negatively impacting your life today, and also look at past relationships and issues in order to learn from them. If depth work is something you are interested in focusing on, some of the ways we can explore the unconscious are through dreams, active imagination, creative work such as art and writing, and also to examine the complexes and archetypes in your life.
Therapy can assist you in discovering your true potential and help you to lead a life that is worth celebrating. While we can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life. By applying complementary therapy approaches and techniques, we will unearth long-standing behavior patterns and negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
